Cadplan were commissioned by Shaftesbury Plc to carry out a 3D Laser Scan survey of this unusual structure in St Martins Court, London. The structure has a dual role of being a seating/planting area and also ventilation for an Electric Sub-Station below. We were asked to produce a detailed 3D Revit Model and extract 2D Plans, Elevations & Sections of the structure for use in redesigning the cladding in either stone or corian.
Creating the 3D Revit Model proved quite complex as every granite panel had to be created separately and to avoid irregularity in the model the Cadplan team used a Mass Modelling technique together with over 90 reference planes.
